Freelance Copywriting

I write stuff to make you stand out. I write stuff that helps you sell and inform, entertain and let people know what’s up.

I’ve written websites so effective that companies had to add an extra shift to their production lines. I’ve written blogs so useful that they continue converting customers years after publication. I’ve written articles that age well, case studies that sway, and white papers that…white papered.

That’s what I do. I write. And I do it damn well because you deserve the best.

I offer two main areas of work:

  1. Writing of all kinds: copy, content, journalism, marketing. Editing, too.

  2. Marketing, branding, and strategy.

That’s about it.

And I’m available for one-off freelance projects and retainers.

I loved this article—it genuinely made me so happy to read. I love your use of brand tone and voice. You nailed it.

Who I work with

I work with people who are making and doing cool shit. Is that you? Are you making life better for people? And not just for the people at the top of the company? Awesome.

I work both as a generalist (almost all industries) and within sustainability. Whether you make beer, run a baseball camp for at-risk youth, make bladeless wind turbines, or run local accounting office, I’m in. A family business installing garage doors? Totally in.

As long as you aren’t oil drilling or coal mining or hawking forever chemicals, let’s work together.

And yes, doing taxes can be cool because no one wants a letter from the IRS.

I’ve worked with one person businesses and huge corporations. And they can all be fun.

Nate was very easy to work with good communication skills and quick turnaround with edits and changes. I was probably a difficult client and he took it all in stride while delivering a polished result that looks good on my website. I would recommend Nate Tyler Writing Company to anyone needing clear, concise copy.

The nitty gritty

Here’s some basic stuff to know about working with me.

I charge 50% upfront (nonrefundable) and 50% on delivery of first draft. Anything under $1000 is charged the full amount upfront. Revisions are made within 2 business days of receiving final payment. For very large projects, we can break this up into milestones if that makes it easier for you. And for extremely large projects, revisions can take a couple extra days. But I’ll give you a heads up.

I don’t list my prices for a reason. I’ve had wildly different projects come in, both in terms of size and goals. From huge companies, to companies of one. My prices fit your needs and your projects. If you want to work with me, reach out and I’m sure we can find something that fits. But my starting rate for any new client is $500. It’s a minimum to pay for the amount of research needed.

Also, if you want to negotiate, that’s fine. I honed my negotiating skills haggling over old baseball cards at card shows when I was a kid, knocking down significant prices from guys four to seven times my age whose full time jobs were dealing cards. And I have a lot of baseball cards.

Indulge me for a moment as I talk about my love for interviews

I mean that pretty much says it all, but this is important for us working together.

Research is obviously a big part of any copywriting gig. But interviews are where you get the goods, and I love doing them.

I don’t proclaim to be an expert in anything. But you and your people are. It’s my job to let your voice shine through the work. Your knowledge, your insights. And the best way to do that with interviews.

Most projects need at least one interview. But that’s where the gold comes from.

You blew me away with how brilliant your work is, and how little input you needed from me to create something that was perfect first time.
