Writing Teacher

Writing teaching for individuals and teams

Let me guess, there are one of two reasons that drove you to this page, to learn how to write better. Either you simply want to, and feel that pull to get better, or you started using the average of average machines and they dulled your taste, your ability to discern what’s good.

You thought the LLMs could give you the resonance of Zora Neale Hurston, or the hilarity of Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor for free, and instead what you got was a troll playing with a Stretch Armstrong while sitting in a slick surrounded by oil wells and ballerinas using toothbrushes to clean the rigs, and you’re thinking, what is this, I was trying to draft a white paper.

Nope, never mind. I came up with that scene. LLMs would uncanny-valley that image to death.

It’s time for you to get back to real writing. When everyone is getting their little robot to read and respond to emails, then no one’s communicating. And nothing, really, is getting done. If you’ve forgotten how to write well, or have always wanted to get better, you’ve come to the right place—I can teach you how to write better.

About me—so I have a degree in creative writing, and when people work with me, they get better at writing. Either through understanding sentence structures and how to manipulate them to get the meaning you want, how to add the right details in the right places to get people to feel what you’re saying, how to create a set-up or punchline for a joke, how to communicate clearly so the work gets done, how to write an offer that sells, or simply how to express yourself. Whatever you’re looking to improve with your writing, I can teach you.

I’ve taught English as a second language, I’ve taught the English portion for the ACT test that high schoolers use to get into college, I’ve sat in countless writing workshops and helped people through their own stories, I’ve managed writers and obviously written a lot myself.

Getting started is pretty simple. We have a free call where we talk briefly about what you’re looking to improve or get out of our time together, and then I figure out how to make it happen, come up with a proposal and send it off to you. If it looks good, we go from there.

If you want that dawn of understanding, that “ohhhh” of realization, then let’s work together. I can teach you or your team to communicate more clearly. And a couple sessions with me is a lot less than paying for tokens in perpetuity so a machine can write for you.

Say hey and let’s schedule something.
